Art is an outlet for me. When I don't know what to do with my emotions, when I don't dare to name them or confide them, they come to express themselves on the canvas in an unexplained, abstract way
Biography
BALD is a self-taught artist evolving in the world of abstract art for eight years. His painting, vibrant and textured, is an instinctive exploration of matter and color.
A former high-level judo athlete, he finds in his art a form of continuity with his athletic past. The discipline, the letting go and the energy of movement, essential on the tatami, permeate his way of painting. Each gesture on the canvas is a raw expression, guided by impulse and the moment.
Art became obvious to him after the loss of a loved one, who shared this same passion. Coming from an environment bathed in artistic culture, with a mother who holds a doctorate in art history, BALD has always been sensitive to visual expression. However, it is through his own practice that he has found a personal language, a space of freedom and meditation.
Working mainly with acrylics, he plays with reliefs and contrasts, seeking to give movement and depth to his canvases. Each work is a dialogue between spontaneity and emotion, a way for him to detach himself from the incessant flow of thoughts and to refocus.
His work is currently exhibited in galleries, testifying to his artistic commitment and his desire to share his universe with an ever-wider audience. He continues his exploration with passion, letting matter and color guide his gesture.
