Biography

Art not only represents reality, but reinvents it, giving a new voice to what we already know.

Jesús Campos is a renowned  sculptor born in Alcalá de Henares in 1972. His work is distinguished by the expressiveness and movement that he manages to capture in each of his works, merging strength and delicacy in pieces that reflect deep emotions. With an impeccable technique in bronze work, his sculptures challenge the rigidity of the material to convey dynamism and sensitivity. Each of his pieces is an exploration of the balance between the materiality of sculpture and the transience of human gesture.

One of the pillars of her work is the exploration of the world of children, capturing with surprising authenticity the innocence, mischief and spontaneity of children in sculptures such as her renowned series "Mundo Infantil". Likewise, his interest in the female figure is evident in creations such as "Feminine Pose" or "Life (Spaces)", where gestures and organic forms play a crucial role. His female figures evoke a deep connection to nature and the ephemeral beauty of human movement.

Jesús Campos also delves into the reinterpretation of classic works with a personal and contemporary look. His version of "Rodin's Thinker" reinterprets the iconic sculpture with a more ethereal and evocative composition, maintaining the introspective essence of the original piece, but endowing it with a new sensibility in the representation of thought and reflection. In addition, his "Meninas" offer a modern approach to Velázquez's masterpiece, playing with the simplification of forms and the abstraction of volumes to highlight its unmistakable silhouette.

Another notable example is his sculpture "Ballet Dancer", inspired by the work of Degas, where he captures delicacy and movement with a subtle structure that conveys the feeling of lightness and grace. In his piece "Homage to Miró", he fuses the  painter's characteristic surrealist elements with his own sculptural language, creating a work that evokes the creative freedom and fluidity of modern art.

Through these reinterpretations, Campos manages to maintain a dialogue with the great masters of art, respecting their legacy while providing a contemporary and renewing vision that distinguishes him within current sculptural art. His version of "Rodin's Thinker" reinterprets the iconic sculpture with a more ethereal and evocative composition. Likewise, his "Meninas" offer a modern approach to Velázquez's masterpiece, giving it its own language. In each of these reinterpretations, Campos manages to preserve the essence of the original while introducing a fresh and novel approach that distinguishes it within contemporary art.

His work, exhibited in New York, Madrid and Valencia, has been highly valued by collectors and art lovers for its ability to capture the essence of movement and human emotion. In addition, his work has been featured in various international exhibitions, cementing his reputation as an artist who transcends borders. His sculptures have been acquired by private collectors and museums, strengthening his impact on the art world.

Each piece by Jesús Campos is an invitation to contemplation and reflection, making him a prominent figure in contemporary sculpture. His ability to combine tradition and innovation has resulted in a work in constant evolution, marked by a deep respect for the human form and its expressiveness. Her legacy continues to expand, with ongoing projects exploring new forms of interaction between viewer and artwork.
