Biography
Mark Drew is an Australian artist based in Tokyo since 2009, and co-founder of China Heights gallery (Sydney, AU). His narrative-based work takes on the format of a newspaper comic panel, replacing quotable rap lyrics as dialogue for his iconic pop culture subjects. As is common practice in hip hop music production, the artist “samples" rap lyrics and "mixes" beloved characters, redefining the meaning of both artistic mediums.
