Raphaël Laventure

Originally from Périgueux, Raphaël Laventure is a French artist born in 1986. He currently lives and works on the Island of Ibiza. Immersed since very young in a creative family universe and fond of history, he cultivated a fascination for the delicacy of Greek and Roman paintings and sculptures. His first steps in painting revealed it through a striking portrait of Leonardo de Vinci. Once he graduated from a French School of Design, Raphaël l Laventure started practicing his favorite mediums again : painting and sculpture.

At the source of his work is the human being and its face, declined with the traits of happiness and of exaltation. He creates a mirror of humanity during the 21st century, sometimes bitter and sometimes careful, through joyful and glittering reflections. The artist conveys a positive vision of existence through pictorial serenity. Raphaël Laventure's work oscillates between figuration and abstraction. The interesting part of his job resides in a malleable image according to the observation of the viewer. The perception of beauty and the burst of color leads the viewer to the limits of euphoria and exaltation. The encounter with his work crystallizes this idealized moment held by the underlying message of the artist.

With a sharp style, Raphael Laventure's work attracts collectors. His works are often qualified as "fireworks, an spectacle of colors". His modern compositions with bright colors offer a sensation of movement expressing a dynamic and positive strenght. His pieces are closely linked to fashion, design and music... Always in a perpetual quest for creativity. A great alchemist of color, he combines pictorial intensity with the excess of his canvases. With the use of acrylics, he superimposes thousands of knife strokes enriched with brush strokes on wooden boards, all covered with a glossy liquid varnish.

through an infinite process of creativity, Raphaël Laventure composes with determination. "I live for painting and even when I sleep, I think about painting", declares the artist. Creator of the "Born to be Happy ®" movement, his creations are like a call to the whole world to be happy without restrictions. The artist carries within him a lust for life, this feeling that each one of us possesses, and that Raphaël Laventure has decided to release in the name of Universal Happiness and the right of everyone to be happy, by giving life to his "Born to be Happy ®" universe.
