How to paint Nature and move from Nature to Culture? The animal camouflages, the painter reveals. Painting freezes life, which is movement. How to return to realism?
Biography
After studying at the Beaux Arts de Paris (1997 class) and working alongside the painters André Queffurus and Philippe Lejeune, Sébastien Nadin settled in Sens in the Yonne and opened his studio a stone's throw from the cathedral, the older sister of Notre-Dame de Paris.
His work oscillates between abstraction and figurative, classicism and avant-garde and is structured around the great eternal themes of painting, still life, landscapes, animal art, large allegorical or fantastic compositions...
Each of the cycles developed by the artist gives rise to an exhibition and its catalogue (Galerie Soufflot of the Sorbonne University, Cité des Arts in Paris, etc.).
Among these themes, Sébastien Nadin has composed a series entitled “digital painting".
His latest compositions can be seen on Instagram.
He is currently preparing an exhibition which will be entitled "the strange bestiary" (drawings on paper, acrylic paintings on paper and oil painting on canvas) of which the first works are visible on Artsper.
