Zhi Rong Song

Born in 1981 in Shanghai, Song is a member of the Shanghai Artists Association. He graduated from the Department of Oil Painting, Academy of Fine Arts, Shanghai Normal University and studied under Professor Xu Mangyao. In 2015, he was invited to the Milan Academy of Fine Arts (NABA) as a research fellow. He is currently working at the Xu Beihong Graduate School of Art, Shanghai Maritime University as a lecturer in fine arts.

Main exhibitions and awards:

1) May 2024, the oil painting “The Throne of Civilization" won the third prize (international level) in the oil painting category of the “Titian International Portrait Painting & Sculpture Competition" organized by the Italian Association for Cultural and Artistic Exchange and Sheng Xin Yu Art.

2) November 2023, the oil painting "White Moon Night" participated in the invitational exhibition of Shanghai higher education artworks organized by Shanghai Higher Education Society and Shanghai Hongqiao Museum of Contemporary Art.

3) May 2023, two oil paintings participated in the invitational exhibition of sea artists "Today's Sea" organized by the Shanghai Department of the Communist Party of China.

4) April 2023, five oil paintings and three watercolors participated in the "Prospecting for a Better World - Shanghai Artists' US-East Tour Exhibition" sponsored by the Shanghai Oriental Book Club, the United Nations Chinese Book Club, the New York Global Chinese Arts, the New York Poetry, Painting, Qin and Chess Club, and the New Silk Road Multiculturalism. "The author and the artworks went to the United States to participate in the exhibition at the World Journal headquarters in New York and the Flushing City Hall (international level).

5) December 2022, oil paintings, three drawings selected to participate in the exhibition of Shanghai Art Museum (Chinese Art Palace) organized by Shanghai Artists Association, Shanghai Art Museum (Chinese Art Palace).

6) August 2022, the oil painting “Self-Portrait" chooses to participate in the 2022 Shanghai Oil Painting Exhibition held in Cheng Shifa Art Museum.

7) June 2021, “Under the Same Roof" - Young painter Song Zhirong's portrait painting exhibition (solo exhibition) held at Haiyun Above Art Gallery (Shanghai News Station of CCTV Painting and Calligraphy Channel).
